Community Colleges Australia (CCA) is the peak body representing not-for-profit community owned providers of adult and youth education, training and learning in a local environment. CCA exclusively represents and supports community owned learning providers.
Local learning is a vital component to enabling communities to adapt to new ways of living. CCA's members provide "centres of connectivity and learning" that are community owned and community managed.
Colleges assist in building community spirit through offering dynamic and flexible learning opportunities with understanding of and empathy for individual and business needs. CCA colleges provide a socially inclusive training environment.
The scope of training and education offered in the 21st century embraces the widest possible range of learning options including:
- courses for work opportunities with a strong emphasis on VET delivery and course achievement
- learning assistance for individuals with special needs
- bespoke training options for businesses
- life-long personal development opportunities and lifestyle enhancement activities including active ageing classes.
